Why Day Recreation at Camp Oakhurst?
Camp Oakhurst’s Day Recreation program is for adults with disabilities who are residents of Monmouth County, New Jersey, and have limited opportunities to get out of the house and socialize with peers. They can enjoy a program of adapted recreation and meet other adults from similar backgrounds at Camp Oakhurst.

What Will Happen at Camp?
Weekend day recreation runs typically from 10 am to 9 pm. On weekdays, the program typically runs 5 pm to 9 pm. Meals are provided. Activities include arts/crafts, card games, music and occasional trips off-Camp grounds. There are staff available throughout the day for assistance with care needs.

Do I Qualify for Day Recreation?
If you are age 20 or over, live in Monmouth County, New Jersey and have a physical or developmental disability, you may qualify. Registration starts with an application and includes a personal interview with a Camp professional.

How Long Will I Be at Camp and How Can I Get There?
Once registered, you will receive a calendar of scheduled activities, running about 4 hours on weekdays and 11 hours on weekends. From October to May, sessions are held most weekends and many weekdays. From June to September, there are limited sessions. Some clients get to and from Camp on their own, others may request and receive door to door transportation.

What Does It Cost?
The program is funded by Monmouth County. There is no fee.

When Should I Apply?
Applications are received throughout the year. Confirmation for a particular scheduled activity depends on space and transportation needs.
